Who then can be saved?
Southern Christian Magazine

Salvation is available to everyone. No matter who you are, where you come from, whether you are rich, poor, no matter your race, or religious background, you can be saved from your sins. The emptiness you feel in your heart can only be filled by God. You may have the nicest family, new house, new car, everything a person could possibly ever want, but something is missing and you can't figure out what it is. What's missing is GOD! Without God your life will never be whole. You will always have a void there that nothing can fill. Family, lifstyle, money, nor possessions can satisfy this longing in your heart.

Jesus said,
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17 ESV

Everyone of us is guilty of sin. It doesn't matter that you are a good person. Salvation is not about being good, but about being forgiven. There are good people that are not saved.

....for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 ESV
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 ESV

Verse of the Day:
"“Blessed is he who permits the Word of God to judge him now, for the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than a twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joint and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” --Hebrews 4:12

The first step to salvation is to admit you are a sinner.
As you can see from the scriptures above we are all sinners. The sooner we realize our sinful condition and ask forgiveness the sooner we can make peace with God.

For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 ESV
Second, believe in Jesus and that he died to forgive your sins so you are no longer separated from God by sin.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 ESV

There is no other way into heaven except through Jesus Christ. All the good deeds you can perform in a lifetime will not get you into heaven. It is through Jesus Christ only. He sacrificed all, the ultimate sacrifice and God the Father does not look on that lightly. It was his only Son that he sacrificed for us, he gave him up to suffer humiliation and die just so we would not be eternally damned.

Third, become a child of God by receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior.

12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
    John 1:12-13 ESV

Fourth, confess that Jesus is your Lord

....because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9-10 ESV

If the above has convinced you that you need Christ in your life pray the simple prayer below to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior.

God in the name of your Son, Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner.
I believe that Jesus died for my sins and ask you for forgiveness of my sin.
I receive him into my life this very moment
and I confess that he is now my Lord and savior.
    Amen

Congradulations, if you prayed that simple prayer, you are now a child of God and are no longer separated from God by sin. Find youself a good Bible believing church and attend regularly.
